About Our Medical Director

Dr. Ralph Epstein is a Malden native who attended Williams College, Phi Beta Kappa and Tufts Medical (A.O.A) earning scholarships to both. He trained at Boston City Hospital/Boston VA and was the Chief Resident. Dr Epstein was also a Major in the U.S Army.

Dr. Epstein took his boards in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Disease. Dr. Epstein established the respiratory department at Lynn Hospital known as the Lungevity Suite, which included four associates. After 18 years, he left the directorship to become an emergency room physician, where he stayed for 19 years. Dr. Epstein practiced emergency medicine at Atlantic Cares Cambridge Health Alliance, Hidden Hospital and Winthrop, where he was the Department Chief.

In 1989, Dr. Epstein was awarded the Atlantic Cares Physician of Excellence Award. He has delivered research papers in Switzerland and England as a pulmonary physician.

Dr. Epstein is now devoting his full time practice to Pulmonary and Rehab medicine as Medical Director at Blueberry Hill. Here, he has reunited with respiratory therapist Stephen Alexander, who Dr. Epstein first managed in 1972 at the Lungevity Suite.
